David Stocker Math that Matters Reflection.

Mathematical ethics recognizes that, for centuries, mathematics has been used as a dehumanizing tool.  Math tells us that individual is intellectually lacking, math formulae also differentiate between the classifications of war or genocide and have even been used to trick the locals out of land and property.  Used in slave trade and colonization.
School and Math for Social Justice are outward signs of building up of the past inward unresolved social injustices.  Most people do fail essential parenting tips in Africa by trying to solve issues the same way in their past.  As a result crime and bitter hardstand youth frequent unrest.  My grandfather who experienced seventy-five percent of his life in colonial rule believed in forcing his thoughts by use of corporal same way colonial enforced.  This made him imprisoned for beating up a police officer to have questioned why he is drinking beer at his bar during a prohibited time.  Peace can never be found without the rule of law.
Therefore, the benefits of implementing social justice instruction in classrooms are vast, and there are fundamental reasons why social justice instruction is crucial in schools.  The results lead to lasting school policy changes, better school climate where discrimination quashed and diversity celebrated with inclusion as the norm, and ultimately a more peaceful, just, and equitable society.
Topics, which are more or less possible, connect with social justice issues, to my understanding all questions can relate to real life experience, for example, we may have ones related to economics, social, culture but while teaching should use problem-solving approach.
David Stocker explains why constant banking of knowledge to the students inhibits creativity power in the learners.  So one of the goals should be for students to understand the issues and think about how to solve them.  Students can continuously be an unveiling reality through a problem-solving approach.  It is essential that most projects have a solution-based component.  The focus should be on the problems students, and their communities are facing.  The goal should be for students to understand the issues and think about how to solve them.  It is also useful to have students share the information that they've learned with their friends and families.  Students can have assignments that involve them teaching something they've learned to family and community members, or have them present their findings to school administrators, and other community members as we witnessed in West Point Grey Academy.

  1. OK -- I think you are quoting the reading a bit, but this will be fine.
