Teaching Perspectives Inventory [ TPI ]

TPI is a new experience to me and so fascinating. From my teaching experience, I found it flowing while answering the questions. I based my answers on my experience but of a different environment. The results of my TPI shows that my dominant perspectives are Transmission and Apprenticeship, and my back up is Nurturing, recessive are Social Reform and Developmental. I must say that the results based on what I have gained in upgrading course in my teaching profession. I have always involved my students in assessing themselves and being able to work on their own while giving them enough help and guidance. I’m glad that my back up is Nurturing for I always want my students to treat me not just a teacher but as a mentor, coach and a parent, I welcome students opinions and question without hesitations regarding the subject or course for their better understanding. For my recessive, I think I need to work on Social Reform and Developmental to balance my perspective in teaching.
